The wraps are off Banchet Jaigla’s beautiful flower bar, right next to Banchet Flowers at 809 Washington Street. As soon as the liquor license comes through, we’ll be sipping champagne together among the vanda and cattleya. Can’t wait!
Sublime experience at Sascha Bakery: 2 ginger chews for $1. These little cookies have a crisp exterior and chewy interior loaded with extreme ginger flavor.
Zero Maria Cornejo store opened up at 807 Greenwich Street at Jane (2 doors from Martin Margiela) featuring smart shapes in scrumptious fabrics. (Love the Venus dress and skimmer in linen with blue lurex threads.)
Beautiful new skirts and dresses in palettes of plum, gold and blue-footed booby blue arrived Friday at Tracy Reese (641 Hudson St). Cosmo is happy to report they offer complimentary dog biscuits. Zero Maria Cornejo will soon be offering biscuits as well.
Abingdon Square Greenmarket Notes What I learned this week at Yuno’s Farm stand:
Red spinach, indeed new + amazing! Nevia’s suggestion: drizzle hot olive oil on fresh and raw red spinach so it’s mostly crisp but wilts just a little.
Toss broccoli raab flowers into the salad mix for beauty, taste and a nutritional kick.
Keep asparagus alive by storing it upright in a bit of water.
The featured leek this week in New York Magazine is from Yuno’s.
Have you ever smelled a shepherd’s basket? One whiff of that nutty, ripened, raw sheep’s milk fromage from Valley Shepherd Creamery, and i just had to take some home.
